Rail drayage

The last leg of an intermodal move, run by the company that can also unload it.

Rail drayage: E.B. Transportation Service

Intermodal freight arrives on rail and still has to get the final miles by truck. We run that leg: pulling boxes and trailers off the ramp, delivering them across South Florida, and getting the equipment back before storage or per-diem starts building on it.

Rail has its own rhythm and its own clocks, different from the seaport's, and the cost of missing one is the same. Give us the notification and the last free day when the unit is available, and the move gets planned around them rather than around whoever happens to be free.

What we move

  • Intermodal containers off the ramp to your door
  • Trailers delivered from or returned to the ramp
  • Ramp pulls straight to our dock for devanning or transload
  • Outbound loads delivered to rail against a booking
  • Equipment returns once the freight is off

How the move runs

  • Check availability, free time and any ramp requirements
  • Pull the unit and confirm its condition
  • Deliver, or bring it in for the warehouse work you ordered
  • Updates while it is moving, not afterwards
  • Return the equipment and close the move out

Common questions

Rail or port, does it change the price?

It changes the distance, the waiting and the rules at the gate, so yes, it is quoted separately. What does not change is that you get the number in writing before the truck rolls.

Can the freight go straight into your warehouse?

Yes, and it often should. A ramp pull into our dock means the unit is emptied and released quickly instead of holding equipment while a receiver finds room.

Do you handle both containers and trailers?

Yes, both, subject to the equipment the move needs. Tell us the unit type when you book so the right chassis and the right truck are assigned.
