Container devanning

The container arrives, our crew empties it, and you get a count you can trust before the box goes back.

Container devanning: E.B. Transportation Service

A floor-loaded forty-footer is a wall of cartons and a deadline: the box has to return before demurrage and per-diem eat the margin. Our crews at the Hialeah Gardens facility unload by hand or by forklift, sort to your references as the cargo comes out, and get the empty back on a chassis in time.

The count is the product. Every devanning ends with pieces received against the packing list, shortages and damage noted while the evidence is still in front of us, and photographs when something arrived wrong. That paperwork is what wins the claim later, and it cannot be recreated once the freight has moved on.

When you need devanning

  • A floor-loaded container needs hands, not just a dock
  • The cargo has to be counted against the packing list
  • Goods need sorting into orders or references as they come out
  • The empty has to return before per-diem builds up
  • Your receiver cannot take a full container at once

What a devanning includes

  • Crew and equipment matched to how the box was loaded
  • Piece count against your packing list
  • Damage and shortage report, with photographs
  • Sorting to references, orders or SKUs as agreed
  • Empty container staged for an on-time return

Common questions

How long does a container take?

A palletized box can be same day. A dense floor-loaded forty-footer is typically a working day with the right crew. We give you the window once we have seen the packing list, rather than a number that sounds good on the phone.

Do you bring the container as well?

We can. We run our own port and rail drayage, so the pull, the devanning and the empty return can all sit with one company and one invoice.

What happens to the cargo afterwards?

Whatever you need: into storage with us, palletized and shipped out the same week, or straight onto outbound trucks. Doing it all in one building is the reason the timing works.
